I am willing to sell my Tikka T3 Hunter left handed chambered in 7mm rem mag. It currently has a Nikon prostaff 5 in 3.5-14. A sling, hard case, 2 magazines, and a few shells left over from this years hunting season. Nothing wrong with the gun, I’m just looking to get a cheaper gun that I can bring through the dense brush a little easier. I’m thinking $850 for everything but am willing to sell gun and scope separate. I believe I have boxes for both the scope and rifle.

Just a quick testament to the T3’s. For anyone that hasn’t owned or considered a Tikka, my experience has been these are very well built stout rifles. Like any rifle, you need to test various manufactures/bullet types/weight, and speed to find the most optimal combination. Between the Tikkas that I own and also friends, we have 7 consistent tack drivers. I’m bench shooting 5″ groups on a perfect day at 900 yrds with a 270WSM. For a factory rifle, that is amazing quality control.

Randy couldn’t have put it any better. Running the cheapest ammo I could find I managed to get .75″ groups at 100 yards consistently. I only have 3 boxes through it over 2 years.

My 7mm rem mag is a sub 1 moa rifle and my 6.5×55 swede will shoot hole in hole at 100 yards when I’m having a good day. I sold my Cooper as it wouldn’t shoot any better than my lightweight tikkas. What are you thinking for a brush gun, mine is a Marlin in 444 Marlin.

Thinking a ruger American, something I don’t feel bad about scratching. Thinking 308 or 6.5 or 25-06

Go with the 25-06 over the 6.5! Ballistics are superior to the 6.5

My bad, I thought you were looking for a brush gun, something that will punch through and not be as prone to twigs deflecting those lightweight, highspeed, pointy bullets.

Any thoughts to just replacing the stock with a composite?

Not really. If I did I would just sporterize the rifle and that’s not really my goal, looking for a replacement caliber as well. I think I’m better off just replacing the gun and letting someone else enjoy a tikka
