    Hey Guys,

Pretty new to the Musky world. I know Tiger Musky are naturally smaller than your typical Musky. What size Tiger would you say is similar to a 50″ musky?

I’m sure there will be difference of opinion, but just trying to get an idea.

    Thanks!

I don’t know……maybe the location would affect the answer? I would GUESS a metro hybrid that was 40″ would be pretty darn good. I think Ryan the owner of Blue Ribbon Bait owns the state record but again I’m not sure.

State record is 51″. I’d guess a 40″-45″ Tiger = 50″ Regular Musky. But they all look cool!

Josh Stevenson is or was owner of Blue Ribbon and he was the one who caught the state record tiger muskie…34 lbs, 12 oz in 1999.

A 45 inch tiger musky would be quit the nice fish in my book. I got a 52 inch musky years ago and man that was a blast. Released..

I’d agree that a 45″ tiger = 50″ true. Here’s one out of Minnetonka of all places.

In-Fisherman has a trophy size chart for each region of North America for most freshwater game fish. This chart indicates that a trophy for pure strain muskie is 28 pounds/46 inches and a trophy for tiger muskie is 18 pounds/38 inches. So if you consider a trophy pure strain muskie to be 50 inches, then a more simpler mathematical ratio for a trophy tiger muskie would be 40 inches or bigger.
