<Has anyone had or know of someone that has had this motor and how well it runs and maintenance. This is a tiller and will be on my Lund Predator. Thanks

I have a 05 Etec 50 hp tiller on my Alumacraft Magnum 165 tiller and like it alot. It gets great gas millage and used very little oil. I have had only a few minor issues….

the pee hole was pluged with a leaf once..easy fix
the check engine guage went bad once…replaced the guage
changed spark plugs last year and runs like a champ

Huge difference between the 87 and the newer Etech

I have a SS prop and it pushes my boat very well..out of the hole great and top ends at 29 mph. I am pleased with it. Always been a Evinrude guy.

No etec experience but if your looking at re powering a mid sized tiller and don’t consider Yamaha your making a huge mistake. The variable trolling speed (VTS) feature is awesome.
