Thorne Bros Quiverstick

I recently got a Thorne Bros Quiverstick for Christmas after reading all the reviews. I was on the fence about it, because I was unsure if I wanted the Quiverstick or power noodle. Man, am I glad I went with the Quiverstick. That thing is by far the most sensitive rod I have ever held. You can feel the smallest hits, and I like feeling my jig and pounding it which is perfect for my style of fishing.

I recently started using Little Atom plastics as well. The micro nuggies paired with a Fiska have been hammering the big gills the past few days for me. My friend was using live bait today and you could really tell the difference between the amount of “keeper” gills that I caught compared to him. It’s been a fun past few days! I ended the day with 22 good gills today in an hour and 15 minutes, and 19 last night in an hour and 45 or so minutes. All I want to do now is fish, and school is getting in the way! 😁

So true. Nothing is more fun that catching nice gills, crappie or perch on a quiverstick.

I agree the Quiverstick is a great rod. I still find myself going to the Powernoodle for bluegills though.

I picked up a 32″ quiver stick this fall and have been very impressed with it thus far also. Paired up with a Shimano Sedona 500 and its a deadly combo with spoons and small jigs.

Been fishing Thorne Bros. 28″,32″ and 36″ Panfish sweetheart rods for about 10 yrs. at least. Thorne Bros. rods are the best IMO. Good to hear positive reviews on the Quiverstick, been thinking about ordering one.

The power noodle or panfish sweetheart is next on the list for me! I was looking at TUCR, but I figured if I liked my first Thorne Bros rod I would like my second one as well!

I have a 32″ TB Quiverstick as well and love it. I just bought my first 2 TUCR rods with 1 being the QT (Quicktip) and I will tell you that it is even more sensitive than my Quiverstick. I think I might have been won over by TUCR.

For panfish, I prefer the Thorne by a longshot. jester

The TUCRQT is a pool cue when playing fish compared to the Quiverstick. I had one, never loved it, still a little confused by its taper. The tip is nice.

I have both, quiverstick and a power noodle. The power noodle sits in my basement, hasn’t been used since I got the quiverstick. PM me if anyone is interested. I prefer the quiverstick to the Power Noodle all day. I however, prefer the DH Al Dente over both.

To those who have fished with multiple Quiversticks, buddies or your own. Have you noticed a difference in the sensitivity of different rods? I have a stealth and it definatly not as sensitive as my buddy’s with a fly reel handle. I even put nanofil on it to help. Just wondering. Thanks

Shorter is usually more sensitive, being your hand is closer to the tip that gets the vibration transmission. If same length, then its all in the rest of the components and the assembly, like less glue/expoxy.

If the difference is extremely noticeable, check to make sure it’s the same diameter and tapered blank. The quiversticks is noticeably finer than the panfish, but without direct comparison, I could see getting them mixed up easy enough.

As slipperybob points out, the build can also impact the perceived action.

I have 5 quiversticks. 2 ordered the week TB first released them with the double looped micro Rec guides and tip top. I’ve gotten a new one every other year since with the snake guides, just got one last week. I was going to say they are all the same, but I just hung masses off each tip and 3 defected very similarly, one was noticeably different. The oddball is from 3 years ago. I’ll post a pic.

I round robined the depth bombs, it didn’t impact the results.

Ok, really appreciate the information. I ll check the tips, I have a Power Noodle, Panfish Sweetheart, and a Tripwire. The QStick is my least favorite. I watch the tip like a noodle or for the line to jump. Tight lines fellas.

Is the tripwire the same rod as the stealth quiverstick you don’t like? The wire really flattens out the sensitivity. I don’t like using it unless I absolutely have to. I prefer using the tripwire on the finesse panfish blank.

My vote is the Power Noodle. My tournamnt partner and I can come up with about 20000 compelling reasons to use it lol.

Seriously though, there are a few great rod makers out there as well as designs. The Power Noodle fits our style of fishing. A combination of tip watching, line watching with a little bit of feel mixed in.

The Tripwire is on the Sweetheart blank, my QS is smaller at the tip then both my Sweethearts. Same diameter as my buddies QStick, the action of mine is a little softer then his. I purchased mine 3 years ago also, the only difference is mine is a stealth w/ syncork. Odd, still a fun rod. Thanks for all the info and Thoughts. I do have a PN that I like alot too, maybe not 20, 000 reasons though ) Nice Work
