Looking at getting a new setup. What would be a option for an all around good panfish rod? The tripwire by thorn bros Or a noodle by tuned up custom both pretty equal in price?

Hey I’ve been thinking about a new panfish rod too. I really like my St. Croix legend, but its always good to have MORE rods, right?

Also looking for a decent rod for eater-sized walleye and bigger perch/crappies…something that’ll handle a 1/8 – 1/4oz jigging spoons/raps pretty well. ideas?

I’ve owned both rods and I will say that these are two very different handling rods… The tripwire is more like a normal rod but with a spring bobber that is integral to the rod. With the noodle, the rod itself takes the place of the spring bobber. After having fished both my personal preference is definitely the noodle.

I would say the original TUC precision rod would be perfect for you.

I’ve got the bull whip and two thorne bros, panfish sweetheart and quiver stick both with trip wires. I agree with will that the noodle is my preference when it comes to a visual bite, but on the flip side, I do like that I have a very nice sensitive graphite blank to feel the fish, and if it does get tough, I can switch over to the spring bobber. If you fish outiside a lot, the tripwire can be hard to fish, and a noodle rod would be the ticket, but, if you do want something that is more versatile, and end up going with the tripwire, think about getting the second heaviest spring out of the three choices, it will help fishing outside the trap. Good luck
