With the water dropping, (4″ since yesterday) it looks like the WI Back Channel ramp will be open again this weekend. The other Red Wing ramps should follow by next weekend.
Runnings Farm and Fleet will be open their posted hours (you can count on that) and they have everything a river walleye guy is looking for. Live bait and plastics all for a reasonable price.
One catching spot that is often overlooked is the shoreline from the Trimbell down to the wing dam on the Wisconsin side. Yes, right smack in front of the resort. The bite is always good there for eaters with high water and the clean trout stream feeding in. I would guess their ramp should be open soon if not already as well.
Don’t be fooled, the water is still high and fast flowing at an estimated 5 mph down stream. Wear your PFD and take a friend. The water is still cold and mother nature plays for keeps.
The suns coming out (tomorrow) and Saturday looks to be a beautiful day.
The FW and I are headed to Rochester for the Grand Opening of Hilltop Trailer Sales on Saturday. So no fishing for me again!
There’s a walleye out there calling my name and I can’t wait to have him over for dinner!
The Woodshed and it’s famous Pizza will be open today.
The Harbor Bar and it’s famous Jerk Chicken should be open late today or tomorrow.
Things are getting back to normal…whatever that is!
