Thought I should give a report we didn’t stay on the ice and I was out with the wife and two kids under 4 yo. So three out of the four of us didn’t try to hard. Friday we took lake road a off chute went around 5.5 from pine island fished from 840 until 445 caught 9 total kept 2. This morning went 8.7 past pine island on adrians road caught 19 kept 6 which included a jumbo perch. Super fun being outside with the weather being warm running around while fishing. The road is getting rough with these warm conditions but I’m sure it will solidify again soon.

There’s a six foot high ice wall that has most of Pine Island impassable now. Cyrus’ is asking people to get their houses off the ice as I’m sure other places are as well.

Ballards got through the wall a couple days ago. A truck and shack just went through the ice right in front of wigwam this morning. Adrians shut there road down yesterday.

If I was a betting man, I’d say you will have no issues. The forecast looks to be below freezing every night and not all that warm during the day. I’d be packing my gear! Good luck.

    Thanks for the pictures Coletrain!

Been here since Sunday. We have 140 miles of ice travel on the sxs so far. Fished NW angle for a couple of days. Drove cross country from Oak Island to Rocky point though snow and knee deep slush on Tuesday. Caught 100+ fish so far. Trying for the 40″+ pike now on the south side. There are a few nasty ice breaks out there that had open areas on Tuesday. I followed one for many miles to find an area that I trusted to cross. There is more ice on average on the south side than there was up from Garden Island to the north. Typical thickness has been 24″-30″. Dales and Arnesons still have many houses on the lake. After this weekends warm up again it will probably put an end to that though.

Maybe their bonehead mishap yesterday made them rethink their landing some. This pic was taken by me yesterday around 1pm.

Why on Earth would they have an excavator on the ice?
