    I saw your partner come into the frame with that little tiny net and I just burst out laughing. I’m not being trying to be rude, I think I have the same net. obviously you weren’t targeting sturgeon and you can’t control what bites, but did you actually think you were gonna fold that dinosaur into a little walleye basket?

    We’ve landed large sturg with a walleye net before…sort of.

    Head goes into the net and the other guy grabs the tail to bring them into the boat.
    Sometimes it work better to have one person grab hold of the pectoral fins and the other grab the trail, then lift them over the side of the boat.

    Just removing the hook while it’s still in the water works best if a picture isn’t needed or wanted.

    That’s the spot I used to ice fish for bluegills in closer to shore there. Best thing about fishing the river, never know what you are going to catch.
