I’ve learned that lesson too many times. That’s one thing I learned not to procrastinate on very long at least. Especially in summer. Minnows aren’t that expensive.
All my winter procrastination is starting to show with the snow melt. Year after year I dump my whole engel in the snow next to my garbage. I should just stop bringing the buggers home.
Don’t bang your net to try to free it from ice. It’ll run you about $20 to order a new one.
I’m so proud of myself when I dump my minnows at the end of the day. It’s very liberating.
Remind me to check on my minnows in the garage tomorrow, or at least this weekend. That sucker and 1/2 scoop crappie minnows might make it to spring, right?

Just a reminder BoatsHateMe, spring and boat maintenance season is about to arrive.
If I had every dollar for every styrofoam minnow bucket I bought, it would be some serious $$.
I quit buying them in the early 80s,when I found out a Coleman Lil Oscar cooler worked much better.I still kid a guy that I fish with about his misadventures with styro buckets. And the one that tipped over in back seat and flooded the floor.
But guys still buy them, and I see the broken ones out on the ice…
Many many years ago we had a trailer in the lagoon on deer lake. We had a Honda civic and it started smelling something awful. I thought maybe a dead mouse or something. I literally couldn’t drive without the windows down.
Then the light went off… I opened the trunk and was hit with the worst stench I’d ever experienced. Half a pound of weeks old dead leeches. I kinda dry heave just thinking about it.
Dumped mine in the woods yesterday the dog loves them.
Would not mind if she would eat them but she likes to wait until they really stink then roll in them…..God awful smell, when she comes in right back out she goes, then turns and gives me this look like WHAT?????????
