Hard to believe it has stayed warm this long and no really cold weather in sight. Sure helps with the heating bill but I would like to be on the hard water.
Other than being a Rapala Ice Pro staff, if a guy has a boat and hasn’t winterized and stored it for the winter, what’s the advantage of fishing through a small hole in the ice vs. open water?
Do the fish bite better once the surface ices over?
For me, I’m sure there will be plenty of ice come January, February, and March. I don’t like to see an early start to winter.
It’s 40 here. This stinks. I’m also tired of TV weather guys all giddy about these temps and saying how happy everyone is! Well, we aren’t all happy. If I hear the term ‘Marchvember’ one more time…
Oh, this is hilarious. Your griping because it’s too warm….friends of mine up north…..well, WAY up north are griping because it’s too cold. You guys need to have a Freaky Friday moment and trade places
Took the boat out this morning on Pipe Lake in western Wisconsin. Air temp was 41 and water temp was 42. Caught 2 northerns about 5 lbs. each and lost 2 more. Fished weeds in 5 to 8 feet of water. Last year had the 4 wheeler out already. My shrubs are starting to get buds on them to start flowering. Some of my bushes have green shoots comong out of the ground, just like they would in the spring. I would rather have cold temps to ice fish. Maybe by January!!!!
