I have a friend who cleans taps for the local Budweiser distributor so he gets to stop into a lot of bars in this area. I built a fish pole rack for him yesterday and called him this morning to see if he liked it. Anyway he said one of the bars he was working in had a guy in there that said he’s been finding mushrooms in S.E. Iowa around the Keokuk area in the very S.E. tip of Iowa along the Mississippi river. were about 3 weeks behind that area so they should be poping here around the second week of April and thats not too far away, around May 1st is prime here. We’ve got enough moisture and all we need now is some consistant heat to warm the ground. Maybe if Herb is still around he can chime in if he’s heard anything.
