Thielen Meats Pop Up in Chanhassen

FYI for anyone in the SW metro! Thielens full menu is available if you call the store. Otherwise they will have a limited amount on hand Saturday. If you’re wondering I got a bunch of bacon, double smoked ham lunch meat, Bologna lunch meat, ring Bologna and a bunch of beef sticks. Hackamore has some good beer and a golf simulator if you want to hang out for a while too.

I just visited the Little Falls store today and grabbed some bacon and meat sticks.

Well it is Thielen, but two different parties running them. I dont have the most experience with either of them, but I continually hear from those that frequented both that Pierz is better.

From wh5i understand, the ones that have the little falls place are relatives of the Piertz place

the one Pierz is employee owned.. they bought it from the family one or 2 years ago.. and both are good in their own rights…

I’ve eaten Thielen’s in Pierz my entire life, and Little Falls more regularly for the last 15ish years, and I can’t tell the difference between the two. John Thielen left Pierz and started Little Falls in the 90’s with the same recipes. Some people thought Pierz’s smoker produced a better product, but that smoker started on fire 5-10 years ago and was replaced with no difference in the product imo. Thielen’s in Pierz was sold to PE that are running it to eventually be 80% employee owned, the Thielen boys still work there and run it though. Little Falls is still owned and run by John’s kid(s).

I’ve had products from both. I could not tell a difference at all.

Little Falls no longer carries the Select grade rib roasts that they got from one of the Dakota’s packers. They can get them but no longer carry them. Jessica told me they will carry the upper 1/3 choice.
