They're getting ready….

…to pick. Another day and the knife will snip these off for part of our dinner. These are Grey Dove Oyster mushrooms growing on poplar logs. I have three of these “totems” inoculated with these mushrooms so we should be eating well this fall. Yesterday these were mere buds about an inch long with a wee cap the size of a pea. They should be something tomorrow.

This is the time of year when one garden begins to wane and another starts to flourish.

Hey Tom, I’ll be down that way 3 times next week, what times supper! devil I’d bet they’d even be good with the crappies! whistling

I got more mushrooms growing in my yard and have no clue. I see them growing on trees all over up north and again no clue.

Best not dine on any of those if you don’t know for certain what they are. These’ll be on a dinner plate Thursday evening. And this week will suck to try and get much done. Ma has wrist surgery tomorrow and I have no idea how she’ll handle it. There’ll be mushrooms for a while with all this rain but the water will be so high the crappie fishing will be, well, crappy.
