Wow it is almost as dark as night outside right now. Just saw some flashes of lightning.

    Long tornado?
    This doesn’t sound good.

A long-track tornado is a tornado that remains in contact with the ground for a considerable distance, typically exceeding 25 miles. These tornadoes are often associated with strong supercells and can cause widespread destruction.

The rain can take a break for a while so things can dry up and farmers can plant.

Very little rain here at least where I live north of sartell. Havent had any significant precip since the snow a while back.

That Reed Timmer guy with his “Twister” looking armored vehicle is in Rochester Minnesota.

I have mixed feelings whether or not the storm chaser Social Media guys are interesting showing live tornados in some instances, or just a circus and hazard as they speed around roads chasing storms.

Same here, including games that are starting at 4:30pm despite the storms coming around 7:30-8

This should hopefully guarantee a bust.

Yeah, the radar looked impressive and it certainly did rain here, but nothing significant in the gauge. I didnt even measure it just dumped it out, but it wasnt much.

Luckily I planned ahead and knew the storm was coming so I got trimmed up yesterday, lol can’t believe places are closing early. The storm looks to be mostly going away or dropping severity by quite a bit. We’ve been getting alot of mist, better quick get the kids from school

for those interested, here’s a famous storm chaser Reed Timmer’s live stream as his crew is driving their Heavy Duty F-150 basically transformed into a tank chasing live in Southern MN, there’s a tornado about to pop right now and they are repositioning so they end up in the path…

Bad stuff out there but unless more develops, it looks like it’s going to perfectly split and spare most of the metro. I’m in the far south metro and it’s barely brushing me to the south. The cell to the north is barely going to brush the 494/694 split.

It looks dicey for the Rochester area. There are 3 or 4 active tornado warning right now. Hard to tell with how the weather reports bounce around. The localk weather had a crew on the road west of Alber Lwea and the sky there was BLACK. Its still relatively light colored here. They say 6:30-6:45 is when the cell should hit here. I’ll be on the west facing porch with a beer, enjoying the show. The radar map was half white with lightning strikes and I love light shows.
