This last week in SW Hennepin County it rained twice.I had 35/100s and 40/100s. The 2 closest reports on CoCoRaHS in my neighborhood were 77/100s and 78/100s for those 2 rainfalls. I like that site.
WeatherUnderground is predicting 0.89″ today into tomorrow and 1.56″ for Tuesday into Wednesday. shock I really don’t need that. Send it north. It looks like they’ll get 1″+ on Tuesday/Wednesday.
I better see if my garden is dry enough to till today.

Here is the European Model for rain through Memorial Day. Could be a wet week around these parts. The bulk of this looks like it will come on Tuesday.

There was a lot of good footage and images of the tornadoes near Rochester MN last night that made it to social media and the news. The one looked pretty legitimate, not just some spindly rope. Hopefully any more that come from this system continue to just churn dirt in open areas and miss people’s homes and buildings

We had .19″ overnight. It just began raining here again and the weather radar appears to have us in rain now for about three solid hours. We need it. Hardly any breeze and a nice straight down rain, not super hard rain either.

Quite a severe weather outbreak slated for SE Minnesota this PM. I see they upgraded all threats and threw out the “PDS” or Particularly Dangerous Situation acknowledgement as well which is pretty rare. I can’t remember the last time we had that for us. Looks like my evening will be spent tidying crap up around the buildings in hope it stays put.

Last I saw 19 schools were releasing at 1-2pm so that bus routes would be done and everyone off school property before it arrived.

Yeah it could be really bad in Southern and SE MN this afternoon. All the weather guessers are saying its ripe.

Blotches of red are already popping up on the radar to the southwest. This could get serious this afternoon and evening. Stay safe out there especially if you live in the southeast portion of the state. A tornado watch has been issued from Mankato eastward to LaCrosse and to the south of that down into Iowa.

Damaging winds and large hail are also a concern.

My sister a week & a half ago got flooded out of her house outside of Nashville. She has been living in a motel since. She lost everything lower then her 2nd from the bottom dresser drawers and what was hanging on the walls. I’m heading down there next week I think.

Hows the house? Is it up on high ground?

House is high enough dang it!!
It would take another 5 inches of rain on top of the 9 we got last night to take the house out, but, living very close to a little river you never know.
I tagged a bullhead with EPGs info on it this morning, from what I hear its in Louisanna already.

Sheldon that looks terrible! Hopefully not too much damage. I love storms but hate when it wrecks property and kills or injures people. Saw reed timmers video of the tornado in Iowa that wiped out some windmills. Been interesting down there for sure!

Lost 2 nice trees…one is a ~90 year old Oak. Everything else was good.

I’m confident the remaining dying ash in the wood line that I haven’t gotten to yet could withstand any hurricane or tornado, while the nice trees are always victims

What a mess. I hope that water receded over night. As long as everyone is safe the rest can be replaced. Good luck Sheldon.
