Not quite 4:30 am here and maybe a 1/2 inch so far.

Well north branch to Rochester got real crappy at white bear. 3 hour drive. Wouldn’t have been bad but other people are awful drivers. I could go 65 but I’d hit groups going 15 to 20 mph.
December 19, 2024 at 7:29 am #23058352 hour delay for the kid’s school tomorrow
And not a flake on the ground up here yet at 7:30 AM
Buses will have a tougher time 2 hours from now…….December 19, 2024 at 7:29 am #2305836The track shifted south. Its not even snowing anymore to the north. The main line is now in the west metro south towards Mankato.

Did any of em have their hazards on?
December 19, 2024 at 7:53 am #2305847Just measured 5″ in the driveway 10 minutes ago. I’m just north of Belle Plaine in extreme south Carver County

Yeah its snowing VERY lightly here now didnt get anywhere near what was forecast. Maybe close to 2 inches, but that is a stretch I think.

They cancelled my kids school already about 6 tonight. We are in the heavier band but we will see what we get.seems to be trending south may have been a bit premature. Royalton right?
Yes Royalton. They seem to take every chance they can to have a snow day. I saw sauk rapids was regular start this morning.

either it picked up a lot since your post at 4:30 or your area got a lot less than in Sartell. I think we had a little over 3″ when I left for work around 8:00. far less than most of the forecast. Looks like a little more on the way yet today but doesn’t look like more than another 1/2″ or so. At least its light and fluffy. Didn’t even bother to clean it up yet. going to wait till after work
December 19, 2024 at 9:48 am #2305895Kind of an overachiever for the Mississippi River Valley here along Pool 4. I just took the girls out sledding and to feed chickens and we definitely have over 4” and counting here. I could see there being 6-7” easily by lunch when things wind down. It seems like the heavier snows are further south than some of the outlets guessed.
It’s still crazy how some people cannot drive or function close to normal daily routines with 6” of snow though. If we ever had a legitimate storm with a couple feet falling in a short span, I’m confident it’d be the end of society here.
December 19, 2024 at 10:14 am #2305908Looking at the radar path it does look like it slid a little more south than the projection had it yesterday. It does look like we could still get a little more than I originally thought yet today

If you think its bad around where you live, try driving around St. Cloud. I truly believe this city has the worst drivers anywhere in the country
December 19, 2024 at 10:27 am #2305915I have to share this for the first significant snowfall of the year each year! I saw a vehicle driving 15 mph on a two lane side road this morning in the MIDDLE of the lanes. I had enough room to scooch around and I think I made the driver a bit nervous…

December 19, 2024 at 10:33 am #2305920Looking out the window I’d say about 1 to 6″ so far out in Howard Lake MN.
Jimmy JonesPosts: 2902December 19, 2024 at 11:28 am #2305932We’re in a dry slot right now so I hustled out and blew the drive and our sidewalk. Easily 5″ for this round with another coming. Our drive goes UP at about 35 degrees to the street, so I like to keep it cleared of snow as soon as possible. It’s easier on this old frame to do things twice than try to wrangle it with twice the load.
December 19, 2024 at 11:44 am #2305936Not much snow in Somalia to get that driving experience.
That for sure is a huge part of it.
December 19, 2024 at 11:55 am #2305938I would say 5 this morning at my place. I have everything cleaned to the pavment including the back porch. Round 2?
I went for 4×4 drive in the truck and Sharon’s meme summed it up nicely.
I may have scared a few people passing them. Maybe just a little…December 19, 2024 at 12:00 pm #2305939Probably 2-3 inches here in the west metro. Its all fluffy and whipping around with the wind.
