Looks like a break until Monday night when another system arrives.

I heard Tuesday low-30’s roll in, chance of a half inch of snow NW of the metro…

Need to mow but the grass is so wet my mower would probably burn up. I’ve been slowly overseeding my lawn all spring so I’m happy about all the water.

I put some weed n feed down in mid April. It seems to be helping.

Can’t mow. Yard is a swamp. I literally have to walk around with boots on at this point.

I mowed twice before all the rain. It’ll be awhile before I mow the back yard which is low. The dandelions are getting sprayed this afternoon!!

Sounds like the weekend only gets better from here. Going to try and chase some crappies in the yak this afternoon, then Turkeys tomorrow AM.

I fertilized but have not put any weed killer down. Last Friday right before the rain. You should not put down weed killer until weeds are actively growing. Starting to get a few dandelions so I will likely knock them out tomorrow. You weed stuff down too early it never works.

I mowed today. Some needed it some didn’t. We are in sand country so even with all this rain the ground isn’t soft.

Last year I put out $400.00 for a new Honda mower and used it three times. I’ve already mowed twice this year and it will need it again before the weekend.

We had two boomers roll thru this morning, one about 4 and the other at 5. ,60″ of rain wrung out of the two of them. More rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow sometime. And maybe again Thursday. The one thing the weather people seem to get right every day is the wind. The petals from the crabapple trees on the curbing are blowing straight up the street perfectly parallel to the blacktop.

With this wind, the high humidity and the chances good for more weather this evening, I wonder what will cook up if we get over 70 degrees, which we could easily do.

Here in the Saint cloud area we are looking at a decent run of weather for the next week or so. At this point only 1 day of rain in the forecast in the next week. a decent run of upper 60’s to low 70’s. Now if the wind could go down some it will be about perfect weather.

I got about 1/4 of an inch this morning.

Mowed for the first time last night. Back yard was like a hay field. Its just been too wet and spongy for me to get back there. Even one area was still a little damp but I got it done.

Chance of redevelopment t-storms this evening. Another chance of rain Wed night. And again on Friday.

Mosquito hatch will be biblical with all this standing water.

Looks like northern MN is getting some much needed rain right now. Hope that helps with their drought situation and I am sure Gim will let us all know.

The drought monitor today shows incredible improvement in basically the entire state. There is no more severe (stage 3) drought anywhere.

There is still a lingering section of moderate drought (stage 2) in north central MN near Leech Lake and to the north near Upper Red and to the Canadian Border, but that’s it. Over 75% of the state is not in any form of drought.

Slight chance of rain tomorrow (Friday), and near 80 degrees on Mother’s Day.

Next decent chance of rain beyond that is Tuesday night and Wed. Things have sure greened up nicely.

A ridge of high pressure (also known as the heat dome) will be shifting north out of Mexico and into Texas next week. This ridging effect tends to push low pressure systems further north, which means we could be in for a higher likelihood of rain/severe weather in about a week.

I could live with one more good push of rain, but then it would be nice if it slowed down to normal summer rainfall amounts. The current trend of warmer sunny weather followed by a rain has the lawns growing like crazy. Don’t want another dry year like last year but also don’t want to need to be mowing 2-3X a week.

Normal rainfall for a week in May is about 0.75″. STC has only seen just over 0.50″ of rain for May, so we are nearly an inch below average. Yes, April was higher than average, but that replenish what we were already short on.

It can keep raining in my mind. I’ll keep mowing mine once a week regardless of length, it’s grass, it’ll be just fine.

I am with you guys on the frequent rain. Drought sucks.

I haven’t had any measurable rain in about 10 days now.

I mowed the back over the weekend and the front last night. It was nearly 12 inches in the front!

My vote goes to more rain as well. Not a fan of the last 2 summers of a brown, crispy, dusty lawn with weeds being the only thing green. Not to mention, one of the boys has become quiet good at mowing and trimming! yay Looks like at least some chance of rain here and there over the next week.

The GFS and European models are predicting a very large swath of rain in eastern and southern MN and western WI by Tuesday. Some areas up to 4 inches of rain. shock

Shoot. I got my brother coming up from Florida on the 22nd so he can finally feel what nice weather in mn can feel like. The last two times he’s come up have been nasty weather. Then as soon as he leaves it’s back to very nice. Sumb!tch.

Don’t get me wrong, I want rain too. I just hope Mother Nature stays civil this time, at least for a couple days.
