The overnight low at my house last night was 65 degrees.

The average daytime high this time of year is 58.

    Something’s out of whack here.

So it’s warmer one day than the 100 year average? I’m shocked.

I put the A/C on today

I also used the A/C this past weekend in my truck while running around upland hunting. Way too hot for that too.

Yeah, back in 1992 I shot my first deer with a bow in Bemidji on October 13th. It was 81 degrees. A year earlier we had 3 feet of snow on the ground about 2 weeks later. Go figures.

I heard on the radio that yesterday, on Oct 21 in 2020, we received 6-10 inches of snow.

For some reason I don’t really remember that. Apparently it was all fully melted within a week.

There is a slight trend towards “average” temps later this week but I am seeing another warm up next week again. You gotta wonder how long this is gonna go. Are we gonna see another fake winter.

Went to bed at 11:00 last night and thought it felt rather warm in the house. Looked at the thermostat and it was 78 Deg. Opened the windows and by this morning it was only down to 75 Deg. Its just not normal being that warn in the house in late Oct.

With this warm weather, the deer ticks are terrible. They are having a banner year.

A couple years before that we had 18 inches at least at my house we did.

I remember the 2020 storm because they were taring my road and the steam coming off thee road was crazy. By deer hunting I think it was all melted. We shot some nice mallards in that snow storm.

Ick, I hate ticks. I am not a tick expert but I thought that they were pretty non-existent come October. I avoid woods during tick season.

Ticks will be out and about as long it remains mild out. I can recall finding a few last March when it was already so warm.

Pool 4 water temps are still crazy high for this time of the year.

I pulled our tritoon but jumped on with a family friend yesterday and we still had 64 degrees.

Things can sure change in a hurry…but it’s still going to take some intense cold shots to get water temps down in our part of the state to have a remote shot at “average” early ice. I used to ice fish Pool 4 backwaters during the gun season in WI every single year. That’s 4 weeks from now. Yesterday there was a dozen kids swimming at the beach.

Why are you guys turning your AC off?

Don’t you just set your thermostat to XX temp and leave it there? My AC will activate whenever the temp in the house gets above 72*.

I don’t care what time of year it is, want the AC ripping away if the house warms up.

Yes they can and I don’t see these “cold shots” happening anytime soon either. 60 degrees is not really a cold shot. That’s still a few degrees above average for this time of year.

The jet stream is to the north in Canada and all the fronts are moving through to the north. Its called a Zonal Flow pattern and there is no end in sight.

I don’t recall what year exactly but I remember deer hunting opening weekend with high’s in the upper 60’s then 11in of snow before second weekend. Things can and do change in a hurry but a normal fall would be nice. I don’t like going from summer to winter in a week.
