Draining out the bow baitwell, I believe a minnow hid a in corner and got sucked down and clogged things up! Anyone have any suggestions on freeing things up? I gently stuck a bottom bouncer down the drain but it go very far until there’s a bend in the line.

I have never had the misfortune in my boat but did in my neighbors boat this year and used and empty plastic water bottle to “plunger” that minnow out of the drain end. Having water in the live well/drain would help with any type of plunging but don’t plunge to hard or you will blow hose fittings apart and have a mess.

Back flush with high pressure water hose.

I do what wkw does. A regular garden hose held to the drain outlet has always worked for me.

    Works for leeches too

Thanks – dumb question – there’s two holes side by side – which is the drain?

The intake will typically have a screen or some type of cover to prevent sucking in debris. I once had a piece of the drain plug come apart and go down the drain. I had to take the hoses off at the drain and had one heck of a time. A minnow should be much easier to flush out.

A blast of air usually works well for me to dislodge a minnow.

A little bit of chemical clog remover will chew it up. Pour a small amount down the drain. Put some water in the well and when it softens it up it will open up and drain the water flushing all your problems away. Works for leeches and minnows. Better living through chemistry.
