The ribs are in the smoker…..!

I’ve been waiting on a day where the wind isn’t blowing so hard the smoker ends up in the park behind us. Today is the day. Found a sale on St. Louis ribs this morning and bought a bunch. Then I got to thinking that as nice a day as it is I should just prep a pack and toss them in the smoker.

They’ll be ready by five for dinner.

The wind this year has sucked. Its been a real chore to find a day when the wind is settled enough to enjoy the smoker. The wind has screwed up my fishing I don’t know how many times already this season and I was thinking I should have gone earlier, but Ma had this other idea, so I’m home smoking ribs. lol

Drove by an estate sale and found a Zebco 33 outfil, rod/reel matched, like new, for $2.00. I’ll wash the garage dust off it, re-spool some decent line and run it down to the bait shop to give to a less fortunate kid. Always looking for deals like this to help get kids in need the fishing groove.

    Smoked ribs are delicious.
That said, I’m glad i bought the reqteq , wind and weather doesn’t effect that thing at all. I smoked my last 2 pork butts when it was 5 degrees and windy. She held 205 degrees all day with no fluctuations.

I forgot to take my ribs out of the freezer. I got a bunch of country style for 1.79 lb. Instead they can stay in the freezer until next weekend and I’ll just get ribs from my local rib place tonight. I’ve been thinking of them all day and this post isn’t helping.

I like doing that with old garage sale archery stuff and model rockets too.

Ribs are some of my favorite. Try a tri tip sometime. That’s my new favorite. Does great in the smoker, cheap cut, and ends up being the beefiest giant steak you’ve ever had.

I love smoking season! That gives me an idea……
