Threw a couple tip ups in front of the cabin while enjoying a campfire yesterday afternoon. I went inside to change out my sweaty shirt when I hear FLAG!! I was already naked from the waist up so I yell to my favorite wife to get it. She has never tended a tip up before. I was certain it was just a hammerhandle like dozens before. Got dressed and ran out to see her hauling in about 20 feet of line fast so yup got to be another small one. Just as I reached her the line jerked tight right at the hole so I stopped her thinking the hook got caught on the ice. I took over and the line was straight down with what looked like a log on it. I thunked it against the hole a couple times wondering how a log took out 20 feet of line? Then it moved! WTH is this. What came out of the hole was a the biggest I’ve ever seen in 15 years on this lake. Thanks honey?
