Mine’s a lake sturgeon. I’ve never specifically targeted one, nor have I caught one by accident. But I would like to someday make a trip to the Rainy River to specifically target them.

Sturgeon is on my list too! I think that would be fun.

Goliath Grouper…whoa. I should have clarified in my original post but for the sake of not expanding to saltwater fish in Australian waters, lets keep it to local freshwater species of fish.

    In no order:
    Grayling on a fly
    White Sturgeon on a tractor.

    Sharon, I’m a bit surprised?

Also, there’s no need to go to LOTW’s to catch a good size Stur, there’s good size sturg in the St Croix River…just wouldn’t recommend fishing during the day on weekends until October or so.

Oh come on Lindy there must be a local freshwater fish that you’d like to catch that you haven’t already.

Caught sturgeon near home all the way up to 63 inches on the croix. No need to go to rainy unless you like a crowd.

I have never caught a lake trout and would love to through the ice

Someday I’d really like to catch a Steelhead. Until then, I’m not entirely convinced they really exists.

The only one I haven’t caught that I’d really like to is White Sturgeon. I would also like to catch trophy sized cats and lake sturgeon, but I have caught smaller versions already. But more than any of those is more 30″+ walleye, only got one so far!

I have a bucket list of fish….mix of fresh and saltwater. I’ve crossed a few off the list but here’s what remains for freshwater:

    30″ walleye
    50″ musky

I’d also like a laker through the ice but not as particular on the size. I don’t really ever fish for Musky so I need to start thinking about how I accomplish that one.

Oh they do…and they’re delicious lol (MI and WI waters)

For me, I’d love to catch a 20″+ Coaster Brookie. One day….one day…

I’ve never caught a monster flathead either, that would be a close second on the list

Steve, Unicorns do exist. Just get your rear end down here when I tell you to, and we’ll scratch that off the list.

I have two inland fish yet to catch before i die

    Stonecat

Tigertrout Bk x Br- inland – I got an outlying one at the power plant in oak creek. Never seen an inland one yet

For me its a Peacock bass. Not one of those small ones in Florida waters but one of the big tackle smashing ones in the Amazon River.

As far as a more realistic one, a big Lake trout through the ice.

Yeah, Alligator Gar is up there for me! So much more of an interesting animal than a lot of these so-called “sportfish.”

There’s a few I haven’t caught that I really don’t see the hype in. Maybe someday I will understand dedicated Muskie guys more. I have nothing against Muskie fisherman. I’ve had Muskies on by accident while fishing for other fish and they’re cool to see, but I’ve never boated one. I’ll be fine if I never end up catching one; but If I do by accident… then BONUS! I promise I’ll treat it nice and release it. )
