You guys win. I’ll be the bigger man admit that I was wrong. I’ve now sided with your side of the argument.
It’s not stupid to break the pedestrian laws that are in force to keep them as well as drivers safe—it’s really smart. I’m going to start being like you guys and break them and encourage others to do the same. It’s supposed to be nice this weekend so I think I’m going to round up as many kids as possible and show them how to play the really fun game called, “Crossing the Highway” or as I like to call it “Dodge Car.” I’ll probably bring my grill so I can cook up so burgers and brats while relaxing in the shoulder as the kiddos wind down after seeing which one could cross the highway back and forth the most times in an hour. Awarding a twenty to the winner should really get them motivated, even the little tykes.
Boy, I’ll tell you what…I’m going to be real pizzed if some driver hits one the kids. These drivers these days are out of control. Always on their cellphones, not paying attention, barely even tapping their brakes to give pedestrians the right of way while just doing the smart thing and hanging out in the roads. I mean, where else are kids going to play? It’s not like you can chuck a rock and have a good chance of hitting a park with it from pretty much anywhere in the metro. Kids are too smart for parks these days. They find them boring. They need the excitement of guessing which way a car is going to swerve and jumping the opposite of their prediction. It’s great physical and mental exercise for them. Makes them real smart.
You guys are so right, sorry for being dense and having it take this long before I saw the light of your argument.
It’s smart to disobey traffic laws, intelligent people jaywalk whenever and wherever, and if you want your kid to have a chance to be the next Einstein? You better get them started playing in the street while still in diapers. Get ’em started young so they can wind up being real smart.
How’s that? How’d I do in understanding and getting the people who opposed my argument of,
“It’s really freaking stupid to play in the street.”
Since there’s no way as many dissenting viewpoints as there were to my viewpoint could be wrong, I have nothing else but to believe the opposite is true.
“It’s really freaking smart to play in the street.”
I need to thank all of you who chimed in. I never could’ve obtained your good logic and common sense on this topic without your help. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You.
Can’t wait to see you fellas out in the streets playing “Dodge Car!”
