the magic of a gift

This old Iowa farm boy has been humbled beyond humbled lately and I dont know yet what to think.
As many of you know I opened my business the first week of Dec. last year, the worst time ever to open a repair shop in a small town but I went into it with a giant leap of faith and being the worlds biggest optimist I did it anyway.

I have been adding tools as needed that I didnt already have and spending every cent of profit on inventory and keeping the bills paid at work and home,I am truly blessed especially seeing as how enough has been provided every day to keep going, then this happened.

An anonymous gift from a fellow IDO member showed up at my door one day saying I needed a sign on the building, something I didnt have yet but was planning for down the road.
I have been running purely on reputation and it helped a lot that the community already knew me from when I worked out of that same building several years ago.

To whoever you are, thank you !! may you be blessed many times over for thinking so much of me even though we have never met.

this sign will go up next week,it was designed by a gal and long time friend from the community who wanted to help out,she even designed my business cards,Joanie, thank you for your talent!!
the sign is being built by sign pro in Newton Iowa not far from my shop, the owner has been working directly with Joanie to bring it to what it is,I love it !!

Now,if we can get past this virus crap and I can afford to pay Denny O to come down to redo the shades, paint the office, the buildings front, and restroom !!
May all of you here be blessed as much as I have!!

The magic of a gift,,,,,,I am too old to believe in Santa Clause,,but I do believe the Good Lord works in mysterious ways.

Amazing the things that can happen to good people eh? Honesty & hard work know no boundaries to those who practice them.

My compliments to the sign designer. Simple & clean.

thanks! and I am bullheaded to no end, many years ago a shop teacher tried to tell me I couldnt bulldoze my way through life, still proving him wrong today.

you and I need to get this bullhead thing straightened out,up there I think they are called grass carp?? they have a white spot on the tail, what ever it is they are easy to catch as they are a stupid fish,I am surprised they even remember to breathe lol.

I’m talking about the Menards M on the building. I’m assuming thats your building with a overlay of the proposed sign.

Dutch that M stands for Morton building. They put it on every building they erect.

    Sweet sign Sheldon.

got it now,I thought you were referencing the long center leg of the m in the sign,ah,er,never mind.
yes,its an overlay proof before it gets made and I agree, the morton m needs to go,funny I never gave that a thought before, too excited to have a sign six months before I thought I would get one.

The M stands for money, which you better have when you come to pick up your vehicle.
I guess that sign shows the world is’nt going to hell in hand basket.
Congratulations on the new sign and good luck in the future Sheldon.

Looks great Sheldon. Congrats on the business. Our area can really use a local marine service. Ironically I went through Kellogg last week and I wondered if that was your new shop. I hope to be down fishing and social distancing in the area the next few weeks. I will make a point some time in the next few weeks to stop and meet you in person.

    Sheldon,
After just watching the local and national news its looking like I will probably be meeting you later than I thought. This virus situation sure does change the way we will be doing things. Everyone stay safe and healthy.
