If you’re not familiar with The Hunting Collective, it’s a podcast under the MeatEater umbrella. The primary focus of the podcast is obviously hunting (and a little fishing) but also how it contributes to conservation, etc. Long story short, people have been nominated for state chapters and I will be admin of the Minnesota Chapter. We are looking for people that are interested, even if you don’t listen to the podcast, in actively doing their part in conservation and stewardship, maybe mentoring people that have never hunted or fished, finding new hunting buddies, and engaging in discussions that might challenge the way most people think about hunting. I have started a Facebook group which can be found at http://www.facebook.com/groups/thcminnesota/

Yes, Good Luck! I listen to the main Meat Eater podcast religiously and check out the other ones when I have time or the subject matter piques my interest. Ben O’Brien does a great job. Best of luck with the chapter, I’ll check out the link.

We are moving towards an emphasis on mentoring people new to hunting and fishing. To incentivize this, there will be some pretty epic prizes (not settled on yet).
This will also be a place to get together with like minded people who want to break away from some toxic attitudes that some of our community can have. So far across the country/continent (a couple of canadian chapters in there) we have 40 chapters with a total of 867 members. If you’re not in Minnesota, there is a chapter in Wisconsin, Iowa, New England, colorado, new york, and pennsylvannia to name a few.
