Traffic seems pretty heavy already around Princeton. I would imagine everybody is heading out to close the lake homes and pull the docks & boats.
The lakes will start to get much more peaceful next weekend.

Traffic heading home from Plymouth to south Minneapolis still sucked this afternoon. I thought it would be better given the exodus. This 35W closure really sucks.

Sure hope pool 2 is quiet this weekend.

Get out of my city so I can enjoy it this weekend!

These are the best weekends to be in the city, Dutch. I’m drinking beer at a little outdoor restaurant patio on lake nokomis listening to a local band. Life is good!

    Btw, what’s an engagement brunch?

Hell, I dunno. When the invitation came it didn’t sound like it was optional. frown

Hopefully they go to Vegas in the winter otherwise i’m not likely to make a summer wedding. wink

when I was a young’n,we called it a shotgun wedding as there wasnt time for the families to get to know each other if you know what I mean.
hope that doesnt apply here even though these days its the norm.

Well Dutch, I hope they at least feed you well. And, I completely understand the “this isn’t optional” thing. Said or unsaid, I get it.

I don’t own lake property but to me it seems awfully early to be pulling docks and closing up the cabin. Have a feeling my dock would be one of the last ones left in haha

there are many here that get the hunting itch so the boat goes in early. I cannot wait for hunting season to start so the lakes empty . If I owned a cabin, I would be chipping my boat out.

Boat traffic was light on the river today although the lock seemed to be getting busier as the day went on.

Terrorist season is almost over. Serenity not quite now but by Monday afternoon I will basically have the northwoods to myself! Bring the great exodus on!

I should imagine that at 4:24 AM when you posted the boat traffic would be light. And I’d also guess that the lock activity would get going a bit AFTER the sun actually came up.

What are you doing up a 4:24 AM talking about river traffic at this hour when you could be snuggling?

At least once a year I see someone put away a wake boat or pontoon for the year-I usually ask and I’m usually right, trailer looks like its sat under a tree for a few months, guy backing up the trailer looks out of practice-nice sight.

Lake was like a war zone today. Guess everyone’s getting it in before school starts

For sure. I don’t hunt and I don’t ice fish. My boat time only gets better from here until Christmas!

Or the weekend after Turkey Day sometimes.

My last trip will be whichever one occurs right before I die. The rivers in MN rarely freeze solid to the point where you can’t get on great fishing year round. No need to “store your boat for winter” when you could simply use it.

It’s nice to not have to think of Labor Day weekend as the end of summer anymore. Just saying.

Lake up in Pine City was an absolute zoo, line at the launch, every land owner with a jet ski or pontoon was out. WHY IS EVERYONE OUT HERE TODAY! I thought.
Then I figured it out-they all wanted to see the amazing Dave Maze!

Lol. I just loved that brand new ranger bass boat that watched us catch fish on a drift. Then proceeded to swing on behind us and spot lock. waytogo waytogo good seeing you again Tim. You should have followed us around. The bite was not slow. grin
