Somehow, even though the sky is falling yet again… I still don’t have my hardhat on… maybe I need the tinfoil one as this thread steers into the government needing to solve everything for people… what did they tell you to have for dinner tonight ?

My truck can get 20+ MPG at times. Not because consumers demanded it but because auto companies were mandated to. Otherwise it never would’ve been possible.
Cmon mike, someone actually posted the hockey stick graph. I expected more from you. I know, it’s old news and not that much fun anymore.
bigpikePosts: 6259January 8, 2018 at 4:14 pm #1742325It’s a great debate and progress towards green energy is a positive thing for us and the future. My point on starting this thread is Gore is a liar and a hypocrite and he has a major cash stake in selling his point of view. I also see the global warming agenda as a major way for government to take a control of our lives. That is something I have no interest in.

Really ? Why doesn’t Gore then spend his time lobbying the government to mandate your truck get 40 ? Why stop at 40… 80 seems better. Seems they can will, whatever they wish ?

I totally agree with everything you said but do you think our elected officials would rather control our lives with energy thats good for us or with energy that puts more money in their pockets?

Wow, I thought you had this figured out by now?
Why? First of all because Gore is only one voter right now. Second, because our elected officials are in bed with big oil. If you improve gas mileage incrementally slightly behind increased demand, you get bigger profits. It should be 40 by now!!!
January 8, 2018 at 5:54 pm #1742356So they are in bed with big oil. But not wind, solar or anything else? How shortsighted of them.

They are but big oil has much more $$$ wouldn’t you agree? Money is power.
January 8, 2018 at 6:06 pm #1742358hey are but big oil has much more $$$ wouldn’t you agree? Money is power.
Definitely. Like you say it’s not like wind/solar don’t have money and lobbyists, etc. but in addition to having much, much more money, oil literally drives certain portions of our national foreign policy.
January 8, 2018 at 6:15 pm #1742362the story of the everlasting light bulb.

I have no idea if what is said there is true or not but it wouldn’t be the first time I would bet a good idea was killed for the sake of profit. follow the money
January 8, 2018 at 6:17 pm #1742363As long as you are railing on stuff that you will never change………..
Your elected officials also are invested in the war machine that is this country. This countries economy is closer connected to war then oil.

We agree more often than you might think. I’m well aware of the military industrial complex.
January 8, 2018 at 6:54 pm #1742372Is this were forum cooling should start?

January 9, 2018 at 10:54 am #1742619I figured out why they say the ocean is sinking. So they can say the tectonic plates are shifting because of it causing earthquakes.

Follow the money. There has to be more money tied up into keeping the status quo don’t you think?
Arnold Schwarzenegger says it best. If you’re not concerned about climate change you should be concerned about pollution. It’s a good idea to limit our emissions and reduce waste. I have never understood why there is so much push back on that.
One would think so. I think they like the way the status quo is filling bank accounts so why hassle with change?
I do believe that things are changing, solar fields are becoming a big business. There are great minds working on cleaner, more efficient fuel sources today. Once they’re surrounded by the right people the process will most definitely speed up. There are many hooks deeply embedded in big oil.
robert johnsonPosts: 3January 15, 2018 at 11:17 am #1744374Deniers here too eh? You should be embarrassed. Not just of your “President” but of your attitudes. You Righties really don’t get it, science is telling us all something and we had better pay attention.
January 15, 2018 at 11:25 am #1744378I have nothing to be embarrassed about. You believe what you want to believe.
BTW, he is all of our President.
January 15, 2018 at 11:31 am #1744381BTW, he is all of our President.
Well, unless you live in one of those sh*thole nations. some of those have the internet too
January 15, 2018 at 11:39 am #1744383You can argue if as a President he should have said something like that. However you can’t argue he said anything the rest of us at one time or another hasn’t said or thought.
bigpikePosts: 6259January 15, 2018 at 12:08 pm #1744391I remember not that long ago a vice president dropped a f bomb on t.v. and everyone in the media thought it was cute. Can you guess what party he was from?

I would hope there are a great many things that the average American has said that would be unacceptable for the President of the United States to say. Is that not something that is obvious lol….
oh hey there bigpike nice of you to rejoin the forum. You were a little quiet there after your trolling efforts blew up in your face. wiping the egg off hasn’t had a good affect on your attitude I see. Think you missed a spot
