The crazy world I woke up to today

Just so we don’t all lose faith. A few weeks ago I launched by myself on Pool 2 and there was nowhere on shore to land my boat and the guy behind me offered to hold my boat against the ice shelf while I parked. I caught a few fish and retuned the favor by telling him the hot color was pink/purple and he went on to catch a few fish too. We float out there, chit chat, share what is working, congratulate each other on nice fish, enjoy the weather, share minnows or beer. Tell stories. Maybe not all is lost.

Your story just bothered me yesterday and reminded me of something that happened to me last summer. A group of us were enjoying the day at the beach grilling and playing volleyball. I looked over and saw 3 kids (16 or 17 year old) sitting on the trunk of my car. I yelled over to them “get off my car” 3 times and they didn’t move. I finally yelled “get the F*** off my car!” They got off and came over to fight me because I disrespected them by swearing at them. I told them “I would not have even talked to you if you were not disrespecting me by sitting on my car.” Once their group of 5 notice I was not alone and in a group of 20 they left.

Regained some confidence in people. Took an acquaintance that never caught more than 1 walleye in a day to the wolf river yesterday. Watched him catch his first time ever limit of eaters, i caught about 50eyes, and turned about 20 boats onto dragging a Carolina rig cross current for eyes.

Back at my truck found a 12 pack of bud light in the bed of my truck with THANKS written on it. Andy that I took fishing didn’t do it…. someone went out of their way to show appreciation. Isn’t this how we should be all the time?

Absolutely! Now pay it forward and watch miracles happen. The more I help others, the more things seem to break my way.

I will share a story. I was on a 200 acre lake on a very windy day. There is a 40×40′ rock pile. I am one of only two boats on the entire lake. The other person was fishing the opposite side of the rock pile and I went to the other. I don’t have a bow mount trolling motor and decided to anchor up to fish in peace. The other boater immediately goes to the other side of the rock pile and starts fishing 2 feet from me. Keep in mind we are the only two boats on the entire lake. I made a comment to my friend “I feel like i’m fishing the river” but that was it. Like you all mentioned it’s not worth it to fly off the handle because someone else is being a dink.
