Ma and I did a few nice days at the cabin and were pleased to not hear any howling. Earlier in the summer we thought maybe there’s be no deer left but the wolves have maybe moved off our area for now.

We saw plenty of deer, does and fawns and bucks, both along the highways as we traveled up there and in the yard at the cabin. Talking with local neighbors we were enlightened to the fact that we have two cow moose, one with a single calf and the other with twins, in the area. We didn’t catch a glimpse of any moose but we did get to watch bear in the yard, one about 130 pounds and a pair of shyster cubs that seemed to enjoy mischief. Fun to watch those youngsters.

The picture was our welcoming committee. I’ll take a howdy from her any time. lol

I let the dogs out last Saturday morning at the cabin. Right as I was opening the door I looked up and at the end of the driveway was a doe with a fawn suckling. It was very cool.

Earlier this week we had mom and 2 spotted fawns under the apple trees.
