I do as many trips to Voyageur’s National Park as the park allows every summer since I retired in 2010. There’s nothing more relaxing than a week alone at a campsite on Rainy or Namakan. So…..VNPfan.

In the 90’s the crowd I ran around with on the River started calling me “Reverend”. I didn’t know why, took me months to get the answer. Turns out I’d been identified at the time as someone who was a bit nuts, my name is Jim and the Reverend nickname was in reference to “Reverend” Jim Ignatowski from the TV show Taxi. I’ve since apparently become a little less fried, but it does make a handy user name.
Sidenote: 1969 is my birth year, I used to use it abbreviated along with Reverend for user names-“Reverend69”. Don’t recommend, especially for dating sites. You’d be surprised how many assumed it was a sexual 69 reference, like I was some sort of religious pervert. Weirdos. shock

Didn’t realize I made that many posts over the last year! Anyone else care to chime in on your IDO name/nickname meaning! These were fun to re-read!

I was drunk and kissed a pout at Eel Pout Festival.
and I use to joke that no one could tangle a line like me when I caught a pout on LOTW. I would say that when I hooked up on LOTW I could easily tie up lines as far away as the Pond.

My proper first name is Robert. Used to hate Robby when I was a kid, but not so much now. Plus cuts down on confusion with my Father who is also Robert, called Bob commonly. Also going back to your original post. I am at 2300 posts and I have been a member since this was called Fishtheriver.com. Even BK was young and spry then. LOL. Sorry Friend I have never met. I also have to ask, what are fishbucks?

You have been here since FTR and you have no idea what “Fish Bucks” are? jester
I was here during FTR but I don’t remember what I went by back then. You know trying to stay under the radar and all.

Every boat I’ve ever owned with maybe the exception of my 17’ Alumacraft Canoe has been somehow possessed with its sole intent on creating angst and misery when I want to use it. Doesn’t matter the level of care. It’s like gremlins come in the night and create much fookery with random items that’ll shut me down or at least distract me from the matter at hand, usually fishing. It also seems the more I need it or the farther I am from home, the bigger the issue.

Of course they don’t go so far as to make me give up and get rid of the thing. They leave just enough hope to string me along for another year. I showed them this year, I’ve left it in the yard for the entire year so far. TAKE THAT! moon

My first new boat was a 1997 Lund Explorer 1600.
Explorer was taken so I just dropped the E, and made it Xplorer

Mine has to do with the patent I got in 1962 to make the first air fryer. The first food I prepared in it was a hotdog. Anyway, that’s how I was able to retire so young and hunt white bass for a living.
