So I have an older eskimo stingray auger probably mid ninety s, not really sure, but anyways as soon as you start the auger begins to spin and doesn’t stop until you hit the off switch. I’ve tried adjusting idle doesn’t help at all, any ideas anyone?

Is replacing the clutch spring something easy to do on em, I have quite a bit of mechanical background just never tore an auger apart

yeah it is fairly easy, just a little time consuming to tare down and get at the springs. i had two augers with the same symptoms as yours, and both times it was a broken clutch spring. good luck hope you getter fixed.

Thanks I’ll probably wait till ice fishing season is over to fix, still works as is don’t wanna run into any issues and be without an auger
