Anybody have a subscription? Do you like the content? At 50% off, it’s about $2.50/month. I’m thinking about giving it a shot.

Edit: The Athletic is an online sports writing company that covers all leagues and teams.

I’ve been subscribed since the start of the MN specific site; coming out of the gate with Russo, Krawczynski, and Robson was too good to say no and they’ve rounded out all the MN pro sports coverage really well.

I prefer to read sports with some sort of an analytics/scheme analysis bent so it works great for me but IMO there’s so much content, in every market and sport, that you can get out of it what you want and I don’t really blink at the $60/yr renewal.

Been a subscriber since day one basically when it was only Russo in this market. The stories and flexibility they have to work with vs a traditional newspaper is astonishingly vastly superior. You will not find better sport content than the athletic and the best part is there are no ads.

I subscribe for the Wild and NHL coverage. It’s soooo much better than any other NHL content out there. If you’re a hockey fan it’s a must have.

The Vikings and NFL coverage is meh to me, and I don’t follow the NBA or MLB so not sure how that content is.

You will really enjoy it and actually probably kick yourself for not signing up earlier. -)
The app for your phone works nice but the website is really nice to use.

I’m not a big reader in general myself, but since ESPN has now started charging for everything useful on their website I’ve begun to pay for the athletic. I love how they use numbers as the base for every opinion, no biased bs. Always new articles about our local teams instead of the Yankees, Red Sox, and Lakers instead. Excellent fantasy sports articles too if you’re into that type of thing
