More Info from American Cruise Lines
PS if you thought the paddle wheelers were pricey…you’ll be shocked at the prices here…but it is all inclusive while on board.
Starting at $4200 for 8day/7nights trip between st.louis and st.paul.
Ouch.
Taking a bus would be less expensive for sure!
Marine Traffic website puts her in LaCrosse right now.

so essentially a party barge????????????????

Ouch.
My cruise through the Greek Isles was cheaper than that! With a flight!
Should be docked in RW today. It is supposed to head back south from MSP on 9/14 which would put it back in RW the 15th. It is then on 15 day trip to NO LA so not sure how it will get back up here to RW by the 21st.
Hey BK what is the American Harmony’s name on Marina traffic, I can’t seem to find it.

I would love to watch it go by Hastings and make that infamous tightest turn (under the Orange bridge) on the mississippi today or whenever that is.
“American Harmony” typed into the search feature.
Yes there is some discrepancies in it’s timing. One of the American Lines web sites said Red Wing on the 14th as well.
It’s still moored in LaCrosse and appears to be traveling most days at night. I’m going to bet it will be in RW on the 14th.
Speed recorded (Max / Average) 9.1 / 6.7 knots
That’s an average of just under 8 mph.
The corp put out many notices about shoaling yesterday in it’s Local Notice to Mariners report. We’ll see if it makes it up to St Paul. Guess the rain might help.
OK, I trust the marine reports more than the posted schedule on the riverboat website. It is supposed to be an 8 day trip from St Louis to MSP. I saw a report on FB that it left Hannibal, MO on 9/7 which according to their schedule is day 2 of 8, RW is supposed to be day 7. It is scheduled to leave MSP on the 14th for a 15 day cruise to New Orleans, but obviously it is running late. Once it leaves MSP headed south, it is supposed to stop in RW the next day.
At Lock 4 in Alma northbound. Impressive looking boat but I like the old paddlewheelers better
It was coming by my house at 530. Fountain City. As it passed northbound there was a tow southbound. This thing dwarfed the tow and barges. It was pretty cool to see. Heavy rain and lighting while they were passing.
That thing going up stream can make some serious time. It goes fast!!
Ya no pictures. Phone was under the house in the garage.
Mean that with all due respect I love the river and big boats but the pricing is steeper then flying to Disney world and back plus some. By some I mean a bunch
Just wait until you see this thing!! Its on its way north. HUGE!!
I woke up this morning to see the AH out my back door. So much for the 14th! LOL!
With most of it’s lights on it looks more like a city then a river boat.
LOL! The price of a cruise on that is one ell off a lot of Rapala’s (or stink bait)!!
One other thing, although it is huge, the paddle boats are larger.
Mississippi Queen and American Queen.
Left RW Saturday afternoon headed South. No lockage record of it passing through L&D 3 so apparently the passengers were bused to and from MSP.
I can see the river from my house & I can cook better than most so this just makes me laugh. Rich dummies need something to blow other folk’s money on.

Why so judgemental? Rich dummies? Good grief. Keep some of your thoughts to yourself.
I’m surrounded by the types that spend $340k for a double wide trailer on the river, for their weekend summer cabin, with a $4k annual tax bill. I’m across the street from them, see the same river just fine from across the street and my taxes are $1100— for an actual house that was built in recent times. I see a lot of rich dummies and there just is no way to sugar coat that fact.

Maybe they have more disposal $ than you? I see the river every day from my house as well. Where is a double wide trailer with a river view for 340K?
Good for you that you can cook. That’s a good skill too have. Pretty sure they are not on the boat for lack of cooking skills.

That’s obvious……. I’m disabled & on a fixed income ….it ain’t much but I live pretty good. I’m half glad I don’t have piles of extra cash cause I’m convinced it makes a person stupid.
Better dumb than bitter
Must be a liberal , have to label anyone with a brain.
You missed the part where I said I live pretty well. No bitterness here, just an appreciation for the humor you types present.
Back on topic, I am pretty bummed the American Harmony didn’t lock up into P3 and then P2, I was looking forward to cruising by it on saturday or sunday….oh well.
On FB, BK thought it was maybe because of the shoaling in p2, did anyone ever get an answer?
And BK, did that thing need a Tug to turn it around in RW? Did you offer to help with the camper

It was pretty awesome even though I didn’t see much of the 180.
Side thrusters pulled it away from the wall, then started up stream. When it was right in front of the Red Wing Marina, it put her port engine in reverse and starboard stayed in forward.
I’m not going too say she turned on a dime but in that small area she turned around. The paddlewheelers (that are another 100′ longer) have turned around there as well.
Not only does it stop all boat traffic for a short time, everyone that’s within eyesight stopped and watched her.
I wasn’t watching closely but there was at least two bus loads of folks dropped off at her open bow shortly before she left.
Me? If I had the cash to burn, I would go even if it travels mostly at night. Unfortunately I don’t and can’t even seem to get a tour of her.
