I don’t understand how the duechbags contributed to that decision. They are closing the parks because of their actions?

Yes, they are closing the parks due to their litter and vandalism. Not the other “V” word.

I can definitely believe this. The number of people on public land is crazy. Everyone bring a garbage bag along, and do your part when out on public. I fill many bags up with trash every spring after hunting season as well. Last thing we need is for all public land to be shut down.

Monday there was even a car from New York sitting in the parking area I was at. I thought it was kind of interesting talking to the guy later when we crossed paths, and he said he drove back to Mn as soon as things started getting crazy out there. He’s been living in a old camper on his family’s farm ever since. He figured no electricity and no running water was better than being stuck out there terrified to leave his apartment.

I just got a rental car because someone decided he wanted to back his boat in to my car. First thing I looked at was the license plate. Not because I was worried about catching the virus from the car. I was worried I may get some dirty looks driving around. They are from Texas by the way. whistling

A lot of other states have also shut down their state parks. Even some national parks have closed. The Smokey Mountain National Park in Tennessee is the most visited national park in the country and they had to close it.

I fish private areas and still bring a t-shirt bag when I go there to fish and pick up crap that gets washed into the area.

I can see a public pier area from where I fish and so far it has been fairly tame. Maybe two or three anglers there at a time and spread out well.

I was in one of those State Parks yesterday and it is closed today. Left around 10.45 am. There was 4 truck and trailers in the lot and 6 individual car/trucks in the whole park. 10 units total, 11 if you count me leaving. The Park is over 5000 acres and has 2 small lakes. Yep closed today because of concerns of not being able to social distance from one another and garbage and vandalism. Baloney for this park. I see no reason to close it.

For them to just simply close the parks on the notion the decision was out of their hands.

Gets a lil annoying every essential worker thinks they are the most important person on this planet now, be thankful you have a job, and do it.

Other than healthcare of course. Front lines! bow

This is exactly what I have been saying would be the sentiment all along.
Understandable resentment from those still working. It wont last long. It will either get better with everyone back to work or completely unravel.

My memory maybe off, while during one of the government shutdowns or slowdowns wasn’t there parks abused in such a manner that massive littering and vandalism caused huge clean ups because the parks were opened with no staff on duty?

All these nonessential workers skipping around frolicking in the parks should be caged. Right Catnip. jester

Have you talked with your employer about taking an un-paid furlough? Might help save someone else’s job.

Who’s stopping you from taking it? I’m sure you’re not that essential doctor.

Hmm ? Guy from New York who left when things were getting bad. Seven days before you start seeing symptoms. At five days is when you are shedding the most viruses. I hope he stays at the trailer by himself for 14 days. People really need to think about what they are doing. Seen pictures of parking lot full of people at High Cliff State Park on Lake Winnebago. No brainer there. We are all in this together. The greatest generation stood up for cause, we must follow their example !!!
