Well it was a hot one last Saturday when I hosted the kids fishing event for the neighborhood.
Fishing was pretty good considering the water is 2 feet below normal on the lake with weed growth a month ahead.

I personally want to thank those that contributed to this event. It may not be a organized event but I do it for the kids and in memory of my son.

Special thanks to James Holst for donating 10 custom shirts and hats for the kids to wear!!!
A Marcum 3 and other items donated by Steve Kracht went to the teenage bracket. The kid loves it!!!
TUCR donated a custom rod for the teen bracket (This was very classy with inscription included) Sweet rod!!
Rodwork donated a custom ice rod that he built wow!! I want one too ;)
SJ Iverson donated towards the purchase of several tackle boxes
Eelpout donated towards the purchase of food and bait and misc.
Several others donated a variety of lures, rods, Dairy Queen gift cards, ext.

I even had a gentleman (Mr. Schukert) that donated a large amount of rods and reels that were his fathers and his father had passed away. I gave out several this year and will save the rest for next years event. My sympathy to you and my thanks to you for being so thoughtful.

We had a great event and I hope to make it bigger next year and away from graduation weekend.

It was hot so getting everyone to stick around for the group pictures was tough. Next year we make them pose first before prizes )

    Yes they are!!
My next step is trying to include BIG BROTHER BIG SISTER in the event.
Lets hope the lake owner will agree

Great job of making the effort to get the kids involved. The bass Club i use to be involved with use to assist in a Big Brother / Big sisters outing each year. It was always a fun event and the kids had a great time. If your event next year does involve the big brother/ big sister organization and possibly turn into a on the water boating event – Be sure to reach out here as well as some local blass clubs and you should be able to gather enough fishermen to help out. I know if given enough advanced notice I would be willing to help out. Once again – Great job and THANKS. Kids these days need as much help as possible getting them involved in outdoor activity.
