What would you need $100,000 for? Certainly not a boat. Electronics? No, I don’t think so. Food? Nope that was free. Seminars? Nope….free also. jester

The wife and I made it out there; with the intention of talking about the art of a deal. Huge numbers of fishermen there so it didn’t happen, but you never know, windows of opportunity can open and close quickly on both sides of a deal.
Open water season is quickly approaching,it’s looking more and more likely that selling mine will be the first priority. It’s also looking more and more likely that we will be without a boat for the first time in 20+ years.
Crazy thing is I never thought she would be the one to insist we need a larger boat than what I had in mind.
I say the kids are gone now;she says you have grandkids to consider.
    Who would have thought?
I will need to keep an eye on the trip swap forum.

Dutch Boy and Jeff, this is for both of you!!

I was where you are now. The difference is I did my big move 18 years ago next month concerning size and power.

I believe there should be a lot of thought given to repairing and maintaining what you have that you thoroughly love and enjoy! Maintenance includes complete replacement within what you already have without discarding the whole unit or passing on the problems to the next “Sucker”!

    Case in point,
This is the second boat that I have done a near total reupholstery job and a total floor and carpet replacement. The later is now ongoing. While I have my boat dismantled (not mostly but) completely, we are adding a few easy to replace items like fuel hoses, sealing any minor hull and other water intake issues, why not Right??

Now for the reasons of needing more seating room, a larger foot print or a bit of a higher side wall for the safety feeling for the grand babies, well there there is not too much you can do like knocking out a wall and adding a room addition to your house! This is a boat, your parameters are most always set by the basic structure that was given to start with. So maybe you should do a bit of sole searching to see what would make you and momma happy.

    And last of all,,,,

Jeff you of all men should know,,,,

    Momma is always right!

Always a fun fun day ! For me personally, it is an opportunity to see old friends that I used to see on a much more regular basis. It is intended to be a day of fellow fisherman friends getting together to talk fishing and a opportunity for us at SBC/ WBC to say thank you !
