I’ve always struggled to find hair jigs in my area. Im sure it’s because I don’t live by a big river. I was in FF today and saw they are carrying Hutch’s bucktails now. Does this mean people figured out that they work in lakes and not just rivers? If only they carried B Fishin hair as well I would be all set.

Give Dean Marshal a thought. Not only is he a gentleman and a scholar, but he stocks a pretty mean line of tackle wave jerr

That’s what I have always done in the past. I was just surprised to see a local selection.

Hutch makes some fantastic hair jigs. I was happy to see this to. Even got to meet Hutch last year at Thorne brothers and thank him for many a walleye he helped put in the boat. He gave me a little grief for buying minnows while there.

The last couple years I’ve started to do well on hair and really have been looking for good ones in stores. I just started tying my own last week and it is a blast! It is very easy and once you have all the stuff the options are endless. Really just go by a cheap kit and a couple of colors you like to use; watch a couple youtube instructional vids and you are set. It’s easy. Here are just a couple from this week. I started last week and I have around 20 in a box ready to go.

    Baby walleye and shiner pattern.

I have a whole box of Dezurik bear-hair jigs. They are so cool I am afraid to use and lose them!

Shoot. The secret is out. I’ve been bugging FF for years to get some of Hutch’s jigs in. I know it took both Hutch and FF, but I’m happy. Now if we could get some B fishn jigs in a variety of colors. In bulk would be a nice option as well.

I think I would totally enjoy making my own. Very nice looking and then to have the satisfaction of landing a fish on one.
