Now I’ll be the first to admit I’d much rather watch the Elite Series but my god, I’m so glad MLF is still fishing this weekend. I actually have something to watch! And yesterday while I was watching Justin Atkins caught a giant 10-8 lber LIVE ON SPINNING GEAR! What a battle.

It’s been really nice to watch during the day before I go to work. It’s absolutely killing me not having any sports to watch….Good thing fishing can be solitary.
March 18, 2020 at 6:36 pm #1924667Absolutely incredible finish for Ott today! I believe it was 40 some pounds in the last 1.5 hours on one spot with a 9-6 included. Really fun to watch.

17 fish for over 50 lbs in the last hour and change. Awesome. On a DT-10 I believe. Only guy to find the school!
March 18, 2020 at 7:01 pm #1924681Yup DT10 in a new shad color. Thanks for the weight clarification. He was like a little school kid with the giggles. Catching them so fast at times the Marshall couldn’t keep up with the score tracker.
The coolest part of this is it being the only sport actually able to compete right now.
March 18, 2020 at 8:07 pm #1924704Yeah it was really cool to watch. The Bass Pro Tour is so much better this year with the 2 lb minimum. The Elite Series has had some bad luck with weather too. Still like that series more but it’s nice to see the BPT make some positive changes and improve their quality.
It was also interesting to see Keith Poche running an aluminum Triton. Looked it up and he said he’s running it this year because he can get it into places where he would worry about damaging his glass Triton. I can totally see that. I’m paranoid about damaging my fiberglass on my Nitro too.
March 18, 2020 at 8:21 pm #1924711Yeah I agree. However if I could make one change to the BPT it would be to use the biggest 10 fish. It would prevent someone from completely running away with the tournament and keep it interesting down to the last second. Heck most knew Ott was going to win it at around the 45 minute mark.

But you might not have had that incredible finish with just the ten biggest! I see where you’re coming from though.
I like and dislike that it is a completely different format that the Elite Series.
March 19, 2020 at 6:34 pm #1925019I wish espn or some other sports channel would have shown it live. Those networks are hurting for programming.

It was streamed live…for free….

blankPosts: 1786April 4, 2020 at 4:50 pm #1930989Chatter baits big time. Damn, they can cast accurately. Impressive. Jordan Lee did cast a shaky head over a overhanging tree branch. That was fun to see.

Might have been a season of frustration coming through in those hook sets, or when he “dropped” his rod in the water. He said at the end of the episode how miserable of a season it was for him. So no surprise that he paid a reported $100k of his own money to get out of MLF and switch back to B.A.S.S.
