Muzzle Loader Bullets?

Ok so my own fault 1) for not thoroughly looking at both packages before checking out and 2) for being silly enough to buy something at gander mountain, but anyway when I got home on Friday I noticed the second package of what I thought were power belt hollow points was actually aerotips. My wife went grocery shopping today, which is right next to GM, so she took them in to swap for another package of hollowpoints. Texted me back they cannot accept returns on those because I might have tampered with them and its illegal to take back.

Is this true? I know ammunition, like centerfire cartridges, but muzzleloader bullets too?? Or did clerk just not know there is a difference (not surprising at that store). Probably a good thing I wasn’t there, I’d have had some colorful words.

In the end I should have been more careful about checking both to be sure they were the same, guess I’ll be testing out some aerotips.

I shoot both, no difference to me, but I only shoot out to 80 yards…. I sure would not want to buy “returned” ammo, when I pay for factory new… I agree with the policy

I know cabelas takes back just bullets but not ammo.

Bought it less than 48 hours ago, never opened the package, wrapping that folds over the top still sealed, hardly ‘used’ bullets. But it is their policy, so lesson learned and I’ve got some new bullets to try out, I typically shy away from anything polymer tipped, but that’s from centerfire cartridges, just not for me.

The aero tips are all I shoot now. When I made the switch from hollow points my 100 yard groups got more than 3x tighter. I think your error is a error for the better
