Ever hear of it? I picked up a 50 round box at the Walmart for $10.97. It’s made in Russia.

Steel casings and dirty powder. I was shooting it when it was all I could find. Shot fine but makes a mess out of the gun. I have three boxes left and when I finish it off, I won’t buy any more unless I can’t get anything else. Just takes a bit longer to clean the guns when using it. I don’t think the $5 per box savings is worth it now that I can find plenty of 9mm blazer brass or winchester FMJ rounds for $15 per box.

TUL is a brand produced by the Tula and Ulyanovsk Cartridge Works in Russia. This same cartridge company produced the Wolf brand, although I have seen mention on the internet that that arrangement may have been discontinued.

I’ve used the Wolf brand of handgun and shotgun ammo before and I’ve tried the TUL primers when primers were in short supply. Function was fine. As others have said, the handgun powder appears to be fairly dirty, similar to old US military surplus ammo loaded with “ball” powders, perhaps even a bit worse.

The primers seemed fine as well. I just don’t think I would go with them if other brands that are (in my mind) more established, were available.

For cheap plinking and target shooting ammo, I’d say I don’t see any issues with it. Especially these days when other low cost options can be very limited.
