What model 9mm would you choose and why? 17 + 1 capacity is desired.

You owe it to yourself to check out the Smith and Wesson M&P. My department went to these in 40cal from the Glock(Gen 3). They are a sweet shooter, and all 6 officers shot better with it as compared to the Glock. It came with 3 different grip sizes, adjustable rear sights and a smoother action. The sear is very pronounced, and the grip is more upright which is more comfortable. It is also much easier to break down than the Glocks we had. The mags are metal instead of plastic as well. After shooting the M&P it was a no brainer. Hope this helps!

If you get a glock you have to choose between a G17 or a G19. I have a G17 and its a nice full size handgun. For carry purposes a G19 would be nice. I have a G23 (.40 cal) which is exactly the same size and its a nice shooting weapon. I actually shoot it better than the 17.

I would check out the FNH FNS9 as well. My wife shoots one of those as her main pistol of choice and loves it. She has a sig sauer 9mm as well and shoots far more rounds through her FNH. Haven’t owned a glock so can’t compare it to that.
