Sparky – my Tikka T3 got its long awaited upgrade today. Boyd stopped shipment on the Tikka stocks a few months ago and released them about a month ago. Naturally I immediately had mine ordered. But on the eve of wi gun deer hunt, I didn’t want to make a stock change. Almost all done.

Action fit into the stock perfectly. I do need to remove it and file a few thousands off onside for the magazine. It just rubs enough to keep it from dropping out when released.

Shot at 35# rear and 40# front. Had about an inch+ group at 250yrd. Went to 40# rear and 45# front and the group came right together.

    So, here’s Sparky

    Tikka T3. 270WSM, BOYD thumbhole, swivel bi-pod.

He spits Barnes tsx 140gr at just under 3200fps, lupa brass, WLRM primer, 68.1gr magpro seated .048 off the lands.

Sparky is already responsible for the death of 3 whitetail bucks, 1 whitetail doe, and a cow elk. (a few prairie dogs also but we couldn’t find them when the dust cleared) Off to a pretty good start. I always wanted one good all-around weapon for out to 600 yrds. I’m shooting in perfect conditions, around 2″ groups at 400 and just need to get out and practice now at some long range!!!

BTW – 3rd shot (one off to right) was a slight trigger pull. Knew it as soon as I touched it off.

That is the same color and style that I’m going to put on my Savage .270wsm in the spring. Looks sweet.

“Shot at 35# rear and 40# front”

    What does this mean?

I have Boyd’s for my 25-06 and 22-250. I just need to get the 250 shot now. I’ll worry about the .06 this spring. I’m hungry for a coyote kill!
