Anyone here know anything about this gun? My deer hunting partner just picked one up yesterday, how would this work for coyote hunting?

Maybe for close quarters shooting, but I can’t imagine a 9mm round has much effectiveness out past 30-40 yards. I could be wrong. Never studied the ballistcs on a 9mm round.

That would be as useless as mammary glands on a boar for coyote hunting.

If it’s close enough to hit with a 9 MM, it’s close enough to hit with a shotgun. See my post in the Predator forum for last weekend’s shotgun result.

If you can’t reach it with a shotgun, you’re going to want something that will reach way farther than a 9 MM. Basically, that will be absolutely worthless beyond 75 yards because there will be so much drop that you’ll have to spend an hour figuring out your bullet drop while the coyote runs away.

JRCs are made for a short range tactical training rifle, especially indoors, and to take advantage of the 9 MM’s low cost. For short range training, there’s not disadvantage, but for anything longer than 50 yards, .223 or better.

I disagree. If you dropped a yote with a rifle, ran up to it and found it still twitching a leg that JRC could be used to end it all.

Yeah, that’d be about the peak of its usefulness right there.

Of course, you could get the same result with a .22 pistol for less than half the cost.

Only if you can find ammo for said .22!

A friend ( I wont mention the name to protect my source ) just plopped 300 rounds down in front of me. Otherwise its readily available online. I bought 300 rounds of my favorite CCI ammo a month ago.

This topic has been effectively covered…9MM pistol is unsuitable for hunting. Minimally effective for self defense unless you buy/load at a higher performance level.
You can purchase a 2013 new Browning X bolt .270 from 4 Seasons in Red Wing MN for less (classifieds)
