Ok, I have a question for mounting a video camera, POV, or any other devise above a scope.
I am replacing all my XTR top rings with a 30mm Picatinni Ring top.

Then I plan to use an offset stud mount similar to this:

    with this camera:

So am I better off to mount forward on the front mount ring or on the rear ring? Would there be any difference in the amount of shock (270WSM) of either position?

Thinking out loud here, would the closer you have the camera to the point of impact from the recoil, your shoulder, have less leverage from the barrel rise.

That’s why I’m tossing it out here. With the brains we have on this side of the house, I know I’ll get all the pros/cons worked out pretty fast. That 270WSM has a little thump to it. Nothing like the 22/250

Mounted on the front would also make the gun heavier in the front, if shooting from sticks that wont be a problem.

Ive got a new scope on the 250 and I need to site it back in, not sure the shoulder will be able to take it
