Same thing happened at Walmart yesterday. Some clown was looking at shot gun shells asking the lady that just happened to have the ammo case key which was better for home defense 6 shot or 7 1/2 shot…she didn’t know so he was going to buy the 7 1/2 shot cuz he thought “that would be closest to 00 buck”…..no flipping clue.

I suppose he bought a couple of hundred rounds of that prime 7.5 “home defense” loads too? There’s another couple of hundred rounds that will be sitting in a closet doing nobody any good while the real shooters and hunters go without.

He bought a couple boxes of those then a box of slug 00 combination load. I’ve never seen them before. They had a 1 oz slug with buckshot behind it.

I was thinking about home defense with a 12 ga…if that’s a persons weapon of choice….in home we are probably talking what….20ft or less? At that range isn’t almost any 12 ga round out of a 26-28 inch barrel going to hit basically like a slug anyway? I’ve never patterned a shot gun at that short of range.

Personally I prefer my bedpost mounted 50 cal belt driven machine gun….of course loaded with hollow points.

Update: Doors open and supposedly grown men running across the store, cutting in front of those that were in line for an hour, shoveling ammo into baskets so only about 6 people got all the good stuff. Stampede. Absolute $^(*%% rejects out there. I blame gander mgt just as much for not limiting purchases on all ammo. What a bunch of aholes!!!

Are you kidding? They didn’t have limits on anything?

What a CF. Which, of course, would be typical of Gander.

Limits on .22 and 5.56 but not pistol ammo. At least not at the Woodbury store.
