OK, I picked up a hip/belt holster for use in the woods…
But what about a CC holster?

What do you guys like? What will keep a gun well hidden and very secure? I juuuust started looking, so I don’t have much information on what works best or what’s avalable…

I have a DA semi-auto 4″ barrel… Probably not an ideal CC sized gun, but its what I have.

    Thanks!

After buying many I prefer pancake OWB (outside waist band). You just need to have a heavy duty leather belt to that will support the holster if gun is too heavy. I bought two belts from a holster maker for that purpose but you can find them elsewhere. With my smallest carry gun I can use a standard nylon belt. Flimsy belts will not support rigid heavy holsters. I have this type of holster for all my carry guns. The only problem is summer carry. I tend not to do it because all i want to wear is shorts and t-shirt when its hot.

Blackhawk IWB holsters are cheap and comfortable, but don’t wear well. Cost about $15.

If you want a high-end leather holster, check out custom places like Bear Creek Holsters. Made to order…

There’s a gun store in Wooodbury selling one brand of custom leather holsters. They seem pretty nice but are $70.

I am going through the same process right now trying do decide what holster is best for me for C&C, I recently purchased a Ruger LC9 and I am thinking about ordering THIS ONE from Ruger made for the LC9. One conclusion that I have come to is that there is no one holster or gun that will work for all C&C situations.

Here is a Youtube video I found with some good info.

That is a pretty holster Steve. And my preferred.
I have two like that with snaps and gotta say I feel safer carrying with pistol strapped in so it cannot fall out regardless of my orientation.
Sometimes I have a strapped one and sometimes I dont.

Yea that is the one thing I am not sure about with this holster, right now I am using a holster that fits my S&W 915 with a strap that snaps and it works but I would like to find one that fits my LC9 better, just not sure about the holsters without a strap.

The only leather holster I have for my G23 looks exactly like the pic and I have been using it for several years. Its sweet and I dont plan on replacing. Its just that I have similar holsters for two other guns that snap in and I feel better with that option. Especially for my mouse gun. I cant feel it on my hip so I like that its secured.

Thanks a lot Steve. All this talk pushed me to buy one for my G17. I went with a Bianchi because they made such a nice holster for my LCP.

I have a safariland paddle holster for my G27. I like the paddle because the weight is not just on your belt. Heck, you don’t need a belt.
