He’s an oldtimer that will take care of you and give you a fair shake. I think he is still only running one dump truck and would probably appreciate the business.
If I missed the news and Ronnie is retired, look for Gordon Glende, Glende Excavating in Cannon City, about 3 miles out of Faribault. Gordy, Scott or Todd will certainly take care of you with small town dedication, quality and prices!
Don’t make the “big company” mistake in that area. You are surrounded by good folks trying to make a living taking care of people like yourself
Good luck

But spending 1500 dollars on a gun seems a bit much… so i was looking at the bushmaster carbon 15 that has a flat top for scope mounting and a 16 inch barrel. Would this be a good choice or do you need the longer barrel. I have not owned a AR style rifle before. So any info would be a big help.

A couple of things: I personally own several AR and M4 platform guns in several calibers. If you are looking at a black rifle ask yourself why is it that you want this, and right after that ask yourself what is the ideal caliber for the game you plan to shoot. 223 or 5.56 ammo is very expensive. Cheap ammo is about .45 per round. That’s not quality hunting ammo. Hornady or good Federal can be .50 per round or more. Next think about what else you can use the gun for outside of what you plan for. Varmint and plinking is best served by a .22 LR. Several manufacturers make quality guns that are reasonably priced. I personally would really think over the idea of the black rifle. They are over priced and not as great as they may seem. A Ruger 10/22 is a great gun if you are dead set on 223 you might want to look at the Ruger ranch rifle or a good savage bolt action. Sacrificing to a carbon rifle because you are trying to fit your budget sounds like a desperate move. They are cheaper in cost because they are cheaply constructed. I suggest doing some research and soul searching to make sure you know what you want and what best fits your needs.
October 3, 2012 at 4:50 am #124246I love my Rock River Coyote Special AR15 223. Light to carry which is what I was looking for a carry gun for song dogs. With 3X15 40 scope single point sling 10 shot clip comes in at 7.4 pounds. . The Coyote Special comes in a 16 inch barrel at 100 yards 5 shot groups .45 inches at 200 yards it will hold 5 shot group 1 inch. For a short barrel that`s decent go to the longer barrels and it tightens up a lot. Shells are very reasonable I buy 55 grain Remington MC locally for .36 a shell. They can be bought thru the Internet for cheaper some pretty darn good shells for as low as .29. Any one who says they aren`t a tough rifle never owned one or bad luck. Mine has been tough as nails nary a problem thru brush, mud, snow and rain.
I bought my Coyote Special at General Coin and Gun in EauClaire taxes included came to $627. Would I buy another one in a heart beat. These rifles are deadly and the fun factor is way up there.
