Yup any Remington slug barrel will work as long as its the right gauge. I have a super mag aswell but the slug barrel is only made for the 2 3/4 and 3 slugs.

Model 870 Extra Barrels with 3″ chambers will fit Super Magnum, Magnum, and 2-3/4″ receivers. These barrels will handle both 2-3/4″ and 3″ shells when used on Magnum receivers. Use only 2-3/4″ shells when these barrels are used on 2-3/4″ receivers.
I think that should cover it?
Also, I know the Express Mag will handle 3.5 inch- but in my opinion, there is no reason to shoot a 3.5 slug. At that point, you might as well get a muzzleloader.
I’ve actually considered going down to 20 gauge slugs in the last couple of years, but bought a new muzzle loader instead! Hope that answers it, and I believe there are plenty of options out there with Cantilever mounts, even Mossberg makes one for the 870 if I remember right.
