Remington 870 stock interchangeability???

    Anyone 100% know the answer to this question?

    Between the standard 870 express gauges, are the stocks all the same and interchangeable between gauges?

    For example, If I took a stock off of a 12 gauge, would it also fit on a 16, 20, and 28 gauge 870 express?

    I am looking at getting some replacent stocks for an 870, and a lot of the stocks available on the market do NOT mention what gauge they would fit. Which leads me to have plenty of opinions and conjecture about the answer, but does anyone know for sure?

    I would just call a gunsmith. By the looks this subject is in unknown territory. This could be some kind of record for this site…a subject nobody can help with

    Found my answer elsewhere.

    The 12/16 is interchangeable – also is the same as the old style 20 which was built off of the same frame.

    Now the new 20’s/28/410 are built on a smaller frame.
