One of the predator forums there was a discussion about what it takes to wear out a barrel. Of course there was no kind of consensus. One member did the math for a 223 barrel shooting 10,000 rounds at 3250 FPS down the tube the barrel had been used for approximately 9 seconds. One of those facts who really cares but kind of neat to know.

Think fuel is expensive just say the rifle was $1,000 that is roughly $111.11 per second.

My brother thought he wore out is barrel to his first AR15. Being the go- no go guage failed in the chamber. Upom further checking he wore out the bolt first. So barrels go awhile

A very fast(hot) load can burn out a barrel even faster… My eye doctor has a new 22/250 Remington that he handloads very hot for Predators…He burned out the barrel in less than 6,000 shots

22-250 running hot he never got any where near 9 seconds use out of his barrel.
